There’s something about being wrapped up in a sky blue draped gown that sends me right to heaven.

My Thoughts on Thanksgiving
I love getting together with families and friends to have a big feast and share love. However, Thanksgiving should be everyday. Why shouldn’t you be thankful everyday? Even if something has gone terribly wrong in your life, there is always something to be thankful for. This Thanksgiving will be the first without my grandmother who passed away earlier this month. She loved having big dinners but she always said “Baby, you should be thankful everyday for everything”. I will always remember that. She also taught me to learn the truth about Thanksgiving and the Native Americans. America, let’s get something straight, Pilgrims ARE NOT nor were they EVER heroes. Thanksgiving “myths” and “history” neatly tucks away the truth about the relationship between the Native Americans and the settlers. Stop adding further insult to injury by having little kids run around in Native American headdresses. Instead, let’s all teach the children of America that gratitude comes from within and that everyday is a day to be thankful for. Family should always matter, love should always be shown and being thankful should be apart of everybody’s everyday routine. Enjoy this time with your family, friends and loved ones but show them love everyday because you never know when it’s the last.
